Forensic Psychiatric Report

Generally it is essential to have a forensic psychiatric report to deal with the key issue of risk of recidivism. Unless a person can show that there is a low risk of recidivism then the prospects of resisting a visa refusal or cancellation would be small.

When being interviewed by the psychiatrist the person must not attempt to down play the nature of the offence or offer excuses inconsistent with the finding of guilt and the remarks of the sentencing judge. The person must show genuine contrition and empathy with the victim.
